Membership
Membership Types and Annual Fees/Dues:
Individual Membership ($25 USD): For all persons 18 years of age or older and living in the United States, its Territories and Possessions, or in active U.S. military service abroad (including adult family members of those in active U.S. military service abroad). Individual Members enjoy all club privileges, including but not limited to attend all general meetings, receiving our quarterly newsletter, and the right to vote and hold office.
Foreign Membership ($25 USD): For those individuals 18 years of age or older who are not residents of the United States (or its Territories and Possessions). Foreign members may not vote on club business or hold office, but they may participate in all general meetings and receive our newsletter. .
Junior Membership (Free): Open to children under the age of 18. Junior members may not vote or hold office, and must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian before joining the KKSA. Junior members may apply for individual membership at age 18. A parent or guardian must submit a membership application for a prospective junior member. Junior members may not hold office or vote.
The application process:
The application process may take four (4) months or more, from the time the application is received until the applicant is notified of the disposition of their application for membership. The process is as follows:
The Secretary receives the application, determines if the applications is complete and in order. If applications are in order, the Secretary shall provide the editor of The Tora (our club e-newsletter) with the names and city/state of each applicant for publication in the next edition of the e-newsletter.
The names and cities/states of pending applicants are published in The Tora. KKSA’s members shall have 30 calendar days from the date of publication/distribution of The Tora to send any feedback about an applicant to the Secretary before the KKSA Board shall take action on a pending application. The KKSA Board shall consider any information submitted to the Secretary and may vote upon the application to membership at its next meeting or the Board may decide to postpone the vote on any application pending further investigation. A majority of the members present at a meeting are required to elect an applicant to membership.
An application which has received a negative vote of the board may be presented by the sponsor of the applicant at a general meeting of the KKSA membership for consideration by the members. The sponsor of the applicant must notify the KKSA Secretary in writing (or email) at least 7 days prior the general meeting at which the sponsor would like the membership to consider the application. 2/3 of members present must vote in the affirmative to elect an applicant to membership at a general meeting of the KKSA.
Applicants for membership who have been rejected for membership by the club may not reapply within 12 months after such rejection. In the event an applicant has been rejected, any fees paid at the time of application shall be returned to the applicant.

Looking for Membership Renewals? Annual membership renewals are completed each fall. The club Secretary and/or Treasurer will send you an email with instructions on how to renew your membership. Please do not use these applications for renewals, as doing so may result in a gap in your membership status. Members who fail to complete the renewal before the stated deadlin will be required to reapply as a new member and are subject to new applicant procedures and processes.
